For the head shots which lighting equipment are you using?

Very nice set of shots Rick, loving the full length shots. Excellent lighting, location, and models!

I had a tinker with the last shot, hope you don't mind. Brushed out her (very few) blemishes, removed a couple of distracting hairs from on the left of the shot, and a tiny gap between her lips. Very minor work really. Also felt the shot was shouting for a b&w conversion.

I normally only photoshop cars so please feel free to ignore me hehe

Two 250w heads on regular stands bounced back off silver brollies. One directly above camera coming in at about 15 degrees. one underneath camera at a similar angle. both same power. Called clamshell lighting.

why thank you!

nice conversion cool

those sort of tones look amazing in mono. lighting like that would be gorgeous on fibre based silver gelatine print. oooff!

I'm not sure if you know about it, or if in fact you think this is cheating, but there's an amazing little plugin for photoshop called Exposure 2. I used this for the b&w conversion. You can replicate pretty much any type of film with it.

Scho, as stated on comp chatter, I love No 2 the lighting is excellent as is the make-up and she is striking. I think Neil's rendition is terrific which puts the look of the model on par with No2, your lighting is again spot on.

As said by others, full length shots are fantastic. You pitched the lighting really nicely for the location.

In the last head shot the mesh looks a bit 'shopped, and initially it struck me as funereal but don't feel her expression portrays that. Nice lighting again tho.

Shot number 4 is the real stand out one for me. How did you light it?

thanks yella & anywhy.

kermit: the main light is a gridded snoot high up on the left, think it was a 750w/s on full power.

there is a 500w/s light behind the arch to the right at about waist hight with a standard reflector on it.

there was also a 8ftx4ft white reflector on the right side of the arch to bounce a bit of the main light back in as fill.

cheers all smile

I love the lighting, composition & location! Only comment would be that the pose on #1 looks a bit awkward to me.
