I want to be able to display thumbnails of photos on my website and allow visitors to select the photos they want to purchase and then select the size of print from a couple of options. Before moving to a secure checkout to pay... (either on site, or through paypal).

Basically a gallery and shop rolled into one....

Open source for installation on my own server would be ideal.

Can anyone suggest a suitable product?

Can you not just use Smugmug?

As I understand it, you can customise it pretty heavily and set it up with your own domain so that it appears to be a completely independent site.

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... - Gallery2 was the suggestion and it does the job admirably.

Depending on your host, you might have it available as a built in option. Even if not, it's easy to install if you're familiar with putting stuff on a webserver (only needs extracting and putting files in certain places).

The X-treme theme (you need to get that from the community repository - you'll see what I mean when you install Gallery) is totally customisable from the front end, but you can always directly edit the CSS and templates anyway.
