Important: Update Your Insurance Policies
Discussion
Canon, and I would think Nikon too, have massively increased the price of their goods over the past few weeks (on average around 20% increase) and as a result your insurance policy may have out-of-date listings for the replacement values of your kit.
I've just updated mine and incurred an extra £14 off Photoguard (my insurer), but it's better than being left out of pocket...

Quick question. Should you insure to the amount your stuff is worth or what it would cost to replace with new?
I think it depends on the policy but as a rule I'd insure gadgets at what they cost to replace (either new, or on the secondary market if they cant be sourced new).I need to revisit my cover as most of my collectable stuff is traded in $$s and therefore I've seen a rise in value just off the back of exchange rate changes.

Very good point.
what he said.i would imagine you two gents are CPS members ?
i've just jumped ship to Aaduki Insurance and their "new for old" policy is linked to your equipment as listed at CPS.
also very nice people, unlike the last lot ...

cheers,
