Backdrop material?
Discussion
Im trying to put together a simple home studio... I have just ordered three studio strobes and a few bits and pieces to stick on them...
But... Im struggling to figure out what WHITE backdrop to get...
Do I use Paper, Cotton, Vinyl (painted matt white)... or something else?
One article I read suggested that using cotton was a good idea because you could then light it from behind to give a better even lighting from the rear?
Having said that... what gives the best results with minimal headache?
Im after something on the cheap that will do the job for a bit...

Works well, I'd take fabric over vinyl because of the amount of light the latter bounces around, depends on your ability though - I cant control it enough at the moment with anything other than cotton/paper

it all depends on the look you are after, the space you have etc
I use white emulsion painted walls/floor and have cotton (black, white, airbrushed) when needed but also use paper rolls. Its really down to the look you are after.
The kit (not checked the link) that I think I recommedned to Andy uses the pop up background with interchangable black and white trains which works very well for high key and black backgrounds
