Discussion

they might be, they were made in 1986 apparently by which time transformers was on the wane a little so stuff from that era isnt in such plentiful supply. They must all have been made post the movie (original animated one) to help sell the toys, which curiously werent actually much like the characters in the film they were supposed to represent. Basically they killed off a lot of characters and replaced them with new ones to jog sales.
Youve got, in order;
Glavatron (decepticon leader who was basically megatron but rebuilt by Unicron after Optimus almost killed him in the movie, he had a purple upper torso and head in the film)
Soundwave and Ravage next, Ravage was a cassette who popped out of Soundwaves chest and turned into a dog (Both of these characters were about before the movie and survived the mass cull)
Springer is the green guy, first of the triple changers in that he was a robot, helicopter and tank thing. He was leader of the Autobots "wreckers" which were a kind of special commando unit. He first appeared in the movie.
Then you've got Wreck Gar and Divebomb (the flying one). Wreck Gar wasnt an Autobot or a decepticon, he's leader of the Junkions who come from the planet Junk and ally themselves with the Autobots in the movie. He transformed into a motorbike.
Divebomb is curious though as he was never in the movie and is actually part of the decepticon sub faction the "Predaconc". With them he could merge together to form Predaking and massive 5 robot beastie. The predacons were always losely allied to the decepticons and were really out for themselves. Divebomb wasnt originally called that, he won the name from the Autobot when he beat him in a battle, the autobot was shamed into changing his name to swoop.
No idva if thats of any interest to you but there you go, theres usually a fair bit of transformvrs stuff on ebay if youre looking for prices though

(no sarcasm). i gave ebay a peep but nothing came up like these. i would be willing to put them up just to see how much they fetch but i would like to know what the "pulling the plug" price would be before i doAre they actually painted water colours, rather than printed or filled in 'paint by number' paintings?
I don't know that much about the transformers lines, but collect other toy lines. Original art used in the production process can run into tens of thousands, but is always traceable to a worker at the firm, as these type of items really didn't make it randomly into public hands - so I doubt that is what you have.
My gut feel is that, while they are cool, they are probably worth very little. Toy collectors don't generally collect *everything* to do with their particular line, and usually focus on the actual toys, rather than the other merchandising making items like this sadly unloved. Of course if they were a promotion perhaps you had to save up 'proof of purchases' from toy boxes for they have a direct link to the toy and may be worth something to collectors.
My hunch (and its a guess) is that they are probably a promotion from the Transformers Comics - comic promotions are generally not worth that much either, unless they are from a super rare issue, which as bronze age comics, none of the transformers will be (even issue 1 can be had on ebay for a couple of hundred $).
I'll ask around tonight and see what I can find out about them.

Another way would be to decide what you'd be prepared to sell them for, and set that as a reserve. They're 'worth' what somebody will pay for them, and if it's too low for you, then it won't make the reserve and you can keep them and enjoy them

The problem with selling stuff like this which might be valuable is that it needs to be titled correctly - 'transformers painting' might fetch £10, while 'transformers painting by [insert crazy Japanese artist]' might fetch multiples more.
they wouldnt have been by a japanese artist as theyre Hasbro branded and Takara control the transformers franchise in Japan. They also dont appear to be in the style of any of the major comic book guys of the period and they seem to adhere to the look of the toys whereas the comic book guys took a lot of liberties with that, so I'd assume theyre some kind of promotional thing, probably unrelated to the comics (I cant remember any offer like that and Im horribly anal about the TF comics
) It could have been a bar code collection thing perhaps? Then again it could simply have been Hasbor flogging some bedroom decorations.Try posting on thetransformers.net its a uk based site and has a forum section.
