Does anyone have experience with these lenses? Any good? Other alternatives? Maybe something in the 10-20mm range instead?

I doesn't look that great value to me. If you're after speed then you can get a Sigma or Tamron f2.8 zoom for similar money or a 28mm f1.8 for a bit more and if you're after sharpness then there is a 28mm prime for half the price. What do you want it for and what other lenses do you have?

I don't have it BTW, but nobody else has replied so I though I may as well.

24f2.8 EF looks loke a great deal for a Full Frame body.

Its not that hot on a crop as stated you can get excelent f2.8 zooms and EF-S f1.4 primes instead.

Cheers guys, I wasn't looking at a brand new one - just browsing the internet the other day at work and saw a 2nd hand one for £250 - it's gone now though anyway.

Nice little lens got one from e-bay for £137, very happy with it sharp as you like.

if it was faster say f1.4 or f1.8 I could understand getting it but either crop or a 135 frame camera its not worth it since you can get zooms at the same aperture

But not zooms with the same aperture and the same size / weight...
