Anyone got any recommendations?

E&L are really pissing me off, with stupid questions and requiring my house alarm to be connected to a central station or 999 facility and I have over £10,000-worth of equipment so they can't insure me and I have cancelled my policy...

I needed PL cover and after a swift Google rang www.aaduki.com

The girl who answered the phone knew exactly what I was after, the cost was a pleasant surprise and so after swapping of details the deal was done on the spot. She said the paperwork would take a week or two, so she e-mailed me a PDF of the certificate almost immediately. So they seem very good to me.

I use Glover and Howe, have done for years. I got a quote from Aaduki a year or two back, and even with a promo discount I was entitled they were still dearer than G&H. Claimed several times over the years and never had any problems. About £20k cover, plus £2million PL cover too. Can't remember the premium off the top of my head I'm afraid.

Thanks guys,

In the end I have switched to Photoguard http://www.photoguard.co.uk/home.asp?promCode=

Came as recommendation from someone else I work with and I now remember stopping at their stand at Focus and them being friendly and answering the right questions correctly.

They also do Public Liability up to $5m which I needed for a couple of jobs (Legoland for one, bloody H&S wombles). Also are OK with me just taking a load of photos of the kit an serial numbers as evidence of ownership.

One thing I did notice is the massive hike in equipment prices due to the exchange rate - I did replacement cost estimates using the Jessops website (amongst others) before looking for quotes and I am frankly staggered!!! A Sigma that I got from Jessops a couple of months back as they were cheapest (12-24, Canon Fit) has gone from £420 to £739 !!!
