First go at using of camera flash?

ust trying to learn how to use off camera flash gear. I still need some wireless triggers and a second flash plus a few stands but im just having ago with the one light for now.

I know nothing about flash (im merley a newbie at this game)
but i personally really like pic 1, feels very 3D and like the car is driving at you!!

I'm keen to get into this kind of thing.

Personally I think the flash is a little harsh and goes further than just adding light to dark areas. In some areas the reflections from the flash seem blown right next to a dark bit, probably as a result of shooting a shiny car.

Did you do any with the flash inside the car?
