I've been messing around with this little app for making pseudo-polaroids. A bit silly, but I quite like it - it's about the only thing that the iPhone's camera's any good for...

make sure you get insurance or a case- managed to crack the screen on mine, after it slipped out of my hand, spun up into the air, and landed on concrete :-(

but, all credit to apples engineering- the touch screen still works perfectly!

thy quoted me £200 for a repair- ouch. (well exchange model, as they say it cant be repaired)

Thanks for the heads up - I've got insurance on all my gear so this will automatically be covered, luckily.

I've got a fitting for a roll neck jumper and some corduroy trousers next week then I'm a fully paid up apple fanboy.

There's another free app called Darkroom. It's a replacement for the standard camera app and uses the accelerometer to delay taking the picture until the iPhone's steady. I found it quite useful, because the phone is quite difficult to hold still when you press the shutter button. No good for quick grab shots, of course, but then, the camera takes so long to start up, that's no loss.

Hey Nick, word I got was that the new one will be 32GB but otherwise the same. The software updates will be available for the existing iPhone 3G once they become available.

On that basis since I don't want or need 32GB I went ahead and got mine now.

Why does this leak the day AFTER I pay for the 3G iPhone?

Ho hum, never mind.

Isn't it just someone's drawing of something that might not even exist?

Interesting...
I dropped mine face down onto tarmac and it destroyed the screen protector, but the phone was fine!
The way the screen protector had been damaged, it looked like the screen was destroyed!!! eek
