Debated long and hard between the new Fuji, Canon Ixus or Panasonic, but finally decided on the TZ7 which arrived this afternoon - haven't had time to try the video but the images look pretty nice.

Would have gone for the LX3 except for the lack of decent zoom and that damned lens cap!

Nice pix, but they look underexposed to me by up to 1 EV.

Can you zoom in/out whilst recording video, something I cannot do on my TZ3.

Ok, looking for a TZ7 now, any suggestions on best place to buy. I have seen they are around the £250 mark.

You've got a few places to check. Depends if you are happy with a grey import (EU stock) or if you want a UK unit.

I bought mine from Camerabox, there's also UKCamerastore who are pretty good.

Google is your friend.

Any particular benefits for the TZ7 over the TZ6? Am looking for a new camera and was wondering whether it was worth the extra £100 or thereabouts.

Love the photo of your dog. Hope you don't mind, but I've given it a few minor tweaks.

Only if you need the HD video, so debatable...

My old TZ records *.MOV files. Does the TZ7 do the same? If so how do you convert these for editing in windows movie maker or similar?

Also looking to buy the TZ7

Anybody had any issues with it, any frustrations?

Alternatives? was tempted at the Sony T90, a different camera altogether but its size is seductive! In the end the 25-300mm lens got me for the TZ7.

So before I order (best price around 260 inc delivery?) any other recommendations?

Would be happy with some manual controls, but it must not be any larger/ heavier than the TZ7?

Satan, the only shortcoming I can find is the battery life - I shot nearly 400 images on Saturday at Silverstone on the TZ7 and the battery was fading. The zoom on it is terrific. My fave pic:
