Hi all,
I'm heading off to photograph my dad's car for a book over the weekend (being the only person he knows with a high-res camera) and I wondered if anyone could lend some advice.
It's a 1970s TVR M-Series in a metallic bronze sort of colour. Any idea what back drop would go well with that? The author has said he'd like something uncluttered and the car's by the coast so we thought maybe a beach?
Also, in general, can someone give me a brief 'car photographing 101'?
I think they're only basically after a snapshot, but it's a good excuse to play around and I'd like to make a decent attempt at it!

Whereabouts will this be?
Can't get it in front of a field in flower can you - yellow oilseed rape, bluebells, blue cornflower (is that out yet?) to set off the gold?
Otherwise against a blue sky? And a green field?
Good perspective and black and white to show off form?
I'd consider shooting only at one end of the day or the other - high sunny contrast won't help you. But some extra Speedlights for fill in might.....
