Hey everyone, Im considering getting my 40D Serviced after owning it for just about 12 months. I was wondering who is best (preferrably in the south west, bristol?) and what price to expect, especially if I need a shutter (which i am worried about after seeing it only lasts 100,000 actuations)

Cheers everyone,

Leighton

Crikey, just how many shots have you taken to be worried about the shutter life?

I would think that your best bet is to pick an official Canon service agent - they are listed on Canon's web site somewhere.

The only one I have had dealing with is Lehmanns Direct in Stoke-on-Trent. I have found them to be excellent and very helpful. They have a contact option on the web site so you could ask their advice.

No doubt there are other options but I can't help you with in formation about your area. Sorry.

Ah! I see.

I think cameras are a bit like TVs and things. If they are going to go wrong early it will usually be quite early in their lifecycle. Once past that they should last quite well in the absence of accidental damage or straight abuse. I think you have found and passed that point already by the sounds of it.
