Is it me or have lens prices short up?

Trying to find some RRPs for lens I own for insurance purposes and the prices seem to be substantially higher than I paid originally.

Another victim of the credit crunch?

It's the $ that photographic components are priced in.

The yen is currently not too far off what I was getting last May when I as over there (~150 yen to the pound) and at it's worst it was only ~10% lower (about 135), where as we've dropped from ~$2 to the pound to under $1.5.

Prices for photographic equipement have gone up across the board. Have a look at the prices and price history graphs on this site: http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/index.html
