Long shot I know but................Does anyone have a fairly Hi Res picture taken straight on to the back of a scamera van. Preferably showing an operator and camera in the window?

Thanks, I've just tried that again but there are only 3 suitable pictures but the resolution is too low.
I'm trying to get a section about 1ft 6ins x 2ft blown up to full size! smile

Scameras have to divulge their position, so you just have to know where one will be tomorrow a.m. and you can take exactly the pic you want.

Then, wrestle with the police for taking illegal shots and get arrested of course.

They are allowed to take photos of us, but we are now no longer allowed to take photos of them.

That'll be a democracy then.

Send me a PM - I took one a few months ago; when I'm back on the main PC I'll try to find it for you.

I guess you refer to section 76 of the Counter Terrorism Act. That prohibits eliciting, publishing or communicating information relating to members of the armed forces, intelligence services and police officers, which is likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Aside from the argument about whether a picture of a scamera van would actually help anyone be a terrorist the people in the vans aren't police, armed forces or intelligence services so they aren't covered. Of course a knowledge of the law is only a small help when faced with an officious idiot trying to get you arrested.

Taking a picture of the van would not be an issue. If you contact your local scp they may even let you pop down and take a pic.

Good wheeze - tell them you're doing an article on road safety, and how important the vans are in reducing the annual toll of road deaths from 3,000 to... er.... hm.... ah. 3,000. (Actually don't mention the last bit.)

I'm guessing he is going to blow it up to full size so he can stick it on the back of his own van to play a foolish prank on someone.

Ah cool. Have you considered whether you might be 'impersonating a police officer' by doing that? Just a thought.
