Can anyone recommend a small reliable bulletcam digital system (for a computer numpty) with separate (for glove box) hard/card drive to mount on my Porsche 996 Targa dash. Everything I've seen is massive and with oodles of wiring... it must be plug and play.
I'd need around 2 hours recording time, better 4, with an easy way to download onto a laptop...
Mounting is also a problem, I've seen many mounts, but a dash one which faces forward through the screen doesn't seem to exist (only massive cumbersome things which fit to rollcages etc)
Any help from PH would be gratefully received

Do you have a video camera at the moment at all?

I use a simple window sucker on the inside of the car and it works fine.

Also means I can use my JVC 80gig hard drive camcorder in HIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHDEEEEFFFFF...nice

Cant help on bulletcams though just another option.

No Ive no digicam at all, as I've been told by someone who filmed with a digicam that he lost it during high speed braking and it smashed against the windscreen, demolishing the camera and chipping the screen. I can't say I want a pound of heavy plastic flying around the cockpit!

I've a mount which fits around the two poles of a seat headrest - B Hague I think was the name of the company that I acquired it from - used for all my incar videos I've done in the Monaro (autobahn, random drives etc)

Does it have a standard screw in mount to attach to the camcorder? If so, can you let me know where I might buy such a thing?

As mentioned, B Hague (google) do them... they work fine.

Just a word of warning though, don't leave them on in really bright/hot sunshine, I've seen them spit windscreens.

Yes has standard screw the same as a tripod. Really is rock solid once you have clamped it on.

was purchased from this very site arrived the next day.
