A story in pictures.

I was gazing out of my bedroom window and notice Jack, the Abyssinian from number 10, outside. We don't see Jack much; he's beatiful but very shy. So when I saw him sitting in the road, I went for the camera. He was still there when I got back to the window:

But what was he doing out? He was tracking a large ginger tom who'd sneaked past (more of him later)

I went outside to get another photo. My own cat, Megan, is a fighter and hates other cats, but she was asleep in a chair. Here's Jack at ground level:

However, unknown to me, Megan had woken up and quietly followed me out. Uh-oh. 'Bunfight at the OK Tea Rooms' coming up I fear.

I was right.

Jack takes refuge under his dad's Range Rover:

Megan goes over to make sure:

However, while Megan is intently watching Jack...

...the ginger tom spies his escape route. I see what's happening. I shout 'Oi, Megan, behind you' - but she ignores me and so Ginger Tom slips silently past...

...to safety...

And that, folks, is what happens while you're out at work!

Well Winnie-the-Pooh was based on a collection of stuffed toys and A.A. Milne did quite well out of it - similar story with Beatrix Potter, so who knows?!
