Chaps and chapesses, looking to upgrade from current cameras and looking at the above Sony.

Current cameras are :

Old Fuji Finepix S5000 - had some really good pics with this over the years and even some decent video. However it is S L O W and shooting video at airshows is click and hunt the 'plane.

Canon Powershot A720 IS - handy for pocket P&S but not had same level of success as the olf Fuji and the video performance is poor, (but from earlier thread, maybe turning off the IS could improve it ?).

As you'll gather, I like still and some video; both for motorsport and airshow stuff along with city and landscape pics. I don't particularly want to carry body + 2 or more lenses but will consider that if reasons are compelling enough. The Sony HX1 is in my price rang; £300 - £400 and seems to offer a lot, probably all, that I would like. 28-560mm, HD video, tilt LCD and some cute functions such as auto panning etc.

Would welcome your considered opinions on the Sony and real-world alternatives. Ta in advance.

Just a gentle bump to see if anyone has any thoughts.
