Anyone tried this?

Camera + heart shaped "diaphragm" made from tin-foil:

Mix with some fake flowers and reflections on cars outside:

Add macro diopter and some coloured dots drawn on a laptop:

Could get some interesting pictures! smile

Made a load of aperture discs and had a laugh using them on various shots ( one such here).

Sold my 50mm now, and my fast, short telezoom has a 77m filter end so I CBA these days. Looks like you're having fun tho smile

Can use it with lights in the foreground, too, but remember to put the disc on upside down if you do.

So do you just cut some tin foil to fit the front of the lens and cut a little hole in it? Is it that simple?

I cut up a cereal packet, made a tube that would fit like a sleeve over the lens and a disc (with pattern cut into the centre) to cover the lens itself and just sellotaped them together.

It takes a little experimentation to get the size of the shaped hole correct. Too big and the regular lens iris will cut into the boleh images toward the edges of the frame like this:

I had a go at this, made all sorts of shapes. Could never get it to be as controlled as I'd have liked though and never really took it any further.

Best effort is here.
