I have ordered a Panasonic TZ7 and did it before asking on here.
I hope I have done right as thinking straight now I realise it would have been best to ask you guys first.
I liked the capability of the 12 x zoom, HD video and macro amongst other thinks, I also ordered a high speed 16gb Sandisk card.
It's all done now bar the waiting so will just have to read your coments until then.

Had mine for nearly 4 months - it's superb - check out my website, the front page image was taken on the TZ7 as are many others on the Car Images page.

Really? hehe

I realise you were maybe joking, but I'm not seriously sure why people would want 32Gb cards? I can get over 500 shots on an 8Gb card shooting RAW on my 450D, so I'm not exactly changing cards every 30 seconds as it is. The question I suppose you have to ask is whether you'd prefer having to make 3 card changes to store 2,000+ images, or not have to change cards, with the potential risk of losing 2,000 images if the card goes tits up.

I did consider one as I do not know how much the HD video takes up. I do have another camera if I need to just take photo's. I may end up getting another card yet.
One other thing, has the TZ7 got any restriction on the size of card you can use as I know my Nikon seems to have one.

I'm struggling over buying a TZ7 or a Canon G10. Can't see what the extra buys on the G10?

TZ goes in your shirt/jacket pocket. The G10 don't!

A closer match from Canon is the SX200IS, 28-336 zoom and PASM controls. Loses out to the TZ7 in that you can't optically zoom during moving mode (you can digitally), and the TZ7 has a wider angle with the 25-300.

At the minute you can get the SX200 for £200 off Amazon (£240-£40 Canon cashback).

I liked the Canon 200 but hated the pissy little flash unit that kept popping up - looked and felt so fragile.
