As it says really.

Sat on the camera the other day and the LCD display. The screen is 2 inch if it helps. Rather not have to replace the camera as it's brand new! frown

Round about £100 was what my GF got quoted. The camera was only worth about £80

Will your house insurance not cover this?

Would help if you said what the camera is?

D3 or point and shoot?

When I smashed the screen up on one of my old phones I managed to find a replacement part cheap on ebay. Quick swap over and all was well. Not sure if this is applicable to your camera, though.

Unless its an expencive DSLR, it wont be viable to have it replaced. The parts and labour sorting ti will almost always be more than the cost of a new camera. Thats how things work in todays throw-away society.

Quite a lot of consumer electronics are so optimized for cheap production that repairs/spares are not economically viable.

I'd certainly contact the manufacturer and ask. I've had acceptable replacement costs from Philips (remote control) and mind-bendingly expensive quotes from a Japanese firm (also a remote control). Your screen will be worse, as even if the screen is cheap enough to bother, the labour costs could blow it out of the water.

I'd expect this sort of thing to be an insurance replacement in most cases. frown

Best of luck.
