I've just opened up a sort of website to show off some of my portfolio and I just wanted to see what you guys thought of my work.

I'm currently looking at doing my own page so was interested to see what you had come up with. I have no idea about how there made and everything that goes in to them...... But, the first thing I did on opening your page was to wipe my screen as I thought the dots on the watch where on my screen. Attention to detail is everything in my book.

Ah yes, it didn't matter how much I cleaned it, it seemed to attract little bits of fluff, I had been meaning to do something about that in photoshop. Thank you you for reminding me banghead

I'd never dream of saying "Attention to detail is everything in my book" unless I had perfect grammar!

Fair one. I can't spell but obviously when I get a web page made I would get it looked over by someone who can.
Any thing to say about the guys page or just here for me?.

I like the shots and the obvious thoughts behind them, although the Mini one I'm not so keen on. Love the water shot though, excellent.

I'd also be keen to find out how you set your galleries up as I'm looking for exactly that for my own site.

Cheers

Interesting photos, but not a fan of the site to be honest, looks a bit patchy and there is no structure to it. It's free though, and your happy with it, that's all that matters wink

The rev counter to me looks to be lacking in sharpness other than on the 70? It's OK moving up towards the 60, but the centre of the dial in particular looks very soft.

Also, with the sweet wrappers and the mini there is, on my monitor at least, a yellowish tinge to the background (fairly slight on the wrappers, more pronounced on the mini). Was this intentional, or is this the white balance in need of adjustment?

My first thoughts on the sweets was "the white balance is off", but I often get lost in the technicalities of photography and don't really appreciate "art" so I thought I'd keep my mouth shut!

With the mini and wrappers I did intend for background to have that tint to it, and the same with the sharpness on the rev counter. I guess everyone just has there own preferences, I like the way they came out, but I'm willing to take comments on board ears

I feel this definitely needs to be in focus.

I've heard tales of images being taken/used without the photographer's knowledge from deviantart sites. I prefer to use a site that uses fairly low-res images.

They are however taken from every site on the net. Nobody can stop a screen grab. I've had my photos turned into fridge magnets!

Furrynough, but there's no point making it so easy for them.

As said above, if it's on the net, it can be taken. Plus I don't really think my images are really good enough to be worth using for anything, but thanks for the warning all the same.

I would agree. No need for the whole thing to be in focus, but at present it feels to me like the wrong bit is in focus.
