Anybody else go? It seems the first decent Saturday drew out a huge portion of the population as it was absolutely packed with something like 150,000 people.

It was hot and I couldn't be bothered to lug the DSLR out so I only took my Leica and Holga with me. The Leica lacked reach to get any decent detail shots so I tried to get the bigger picture, if you'll pardon the pun.

Red Arrows were on at 17:00, and as usual were bloody amazing:

The balloons all took off at around 18:30, Harvey Nichols were the sponsor so their balloon shot off first:

The rest followed a few minutes later:

I think I know which was the favourite balloon amongst the men present:

The night glow at 21:30 was fun but hard to capture properly as at ISO800 things start to go awry on most compacts, the Leica being no exception

There must have been some other PH'ers there - and certainly there was no shortage of people waving SLRs around. Share 'em if you've got 'em!

Thanks chaps, glad you like them! I thought a few other PH'ers might have been there with a camera.

It's a good day out although the beer tent running out of booze at 19:00 wasn't great.

Went to pick up the car today and there was a Spitfire/Seafire (or possibly Hurricane) buzzing around, gutted I missed that yesterday. Has to be one of the best sounds in the world.

I went yesterday too. My christ was it busy! Took nearly an hour from Gordano before we gave up, parked and walked the rest of the way. Turned out to be a massive funfair with some balloons next to it which was a bit of a shame. However the light was fantastic and i should have some great shots, will post them when i get a chance to look through etc.

Nice photos. I believe Sloggi used to have an eye catching ballon too.
