Right, i'm going to start using this thread to add some photos which I have recently taken. Rather than throw a load on at once and annoy those who are on limited bandwidth I'll add them a couple at a time

Heres a couple which I've done so far. A little tweaking in PS (I need to start learning about masks/layers as at the moment i'm just mixing levels) perhaps a bit oversaturated. Any comments welcome as I'm serious about improving my photographs.

its not always about things being straight and level (despite what nearly every group on flickr would like you to believe) and you've balanced it nice with the cow but I'd have liked to see a bit more alignment with the shed to get the insides of both walls

remember anything in this world is down to personal tastes

Absolutely Stig, I guess there's not a lot to give on these photo's but I've got a host of shots which I want to put forward (in process of a few simple edits with them) to see what I need to do to improve.

Too wide in the first, would have been better to take about 10 steps backwards and then shoot using zoom to avoid the lens distortion you're getting. Too high in the second, drop down a bit and get on the same level rather than look/point down

I do it as well, never learn hehe

How about this one? I don't know why I started on the wildlife shots, most are landscapes!

I'm trying to move away from P&S holiday snaps but sometimes I just cant seem to get away from it. I think I need to work on composition.

Oh and could anyone give me an idea of how to do a decent border in PS? Those 2 above are just from a border modify and fill but I'd quite like to have a double line border the outer slightly bigger than the inner one.
