Had a off day at Donington today. I walked the whole of the circuit so my legs are done in and I hadnt touched the camera for a whole week so was a bit rusty. And the wind was really strong in the morning and it kept blowing the lens during panning shots. I felt better in the afternoon, though. Shame about some of the grids but hey ho! The Can Am cars are just AWESOME. They make a noise like no other. I was in heaven. They are amazing.

Anyway:

1. Pitlane

2. Mini Lock up

3. Mini trying hard

4. Expensive train

5. I'll take the Alfa, ta.

6. Different view of Craners

7. Capri pushing on

8. Can Am car!! I WANT ONE. My camera seemed to like this car....

9. ......see.

10. Oops. Gutted for Christian (the driver). From what I saw, it wasnt his fault. I think the brakes went chips.

C and C please,

Thanks,
Matt

Ah well, if you insist, my comments for what they're worth -
1. For some reason this one's my favourite of the bunch. I guess it's because it's an unusual angle and there's a lot going on. Usually such pictures are full of 'tourists' tyre kicking whereas everyone in this is clearly getting ready for the race.
2. Appears over-processed to me and you're the wrong side for the sun.
3. Again, wrong side for the sun. If only he'd been trying a little bit harder it might have made up for that.
4. Nicely done. I know from my own experience how difficult it is to get the lead car sharp and get a good composition.
5. Another good one. If that's a crop I'd put the cars lower in the frame, rule of thirds and all that.
6. Like this one. The viewpoint seems incredibly high (I don't know the circuit). Is it from a grandstand?
7. Very well executed, I'd guess that's a pretty low shutter speed so well done and the angle you've put on it isn't too excessive.
8. Good shot.
9. Nice angle on the car just coming over the crest. Could be a bit sharper.
10. Very sharp, I always get caught out by these as I find myself on a low shutter speed just when I need a really high one. Well caught.

Hope that's a help.

That is fantastic smile Thank you very much! As for the Mini shots, #1 was a poor attempt at burning in and #2 was through a fence so that didnt help matters much!

Cool pics - especially like number 10, I always get caught out by them ones as well, I usually shoot a slower shutter speed to get the background blur.......then someone goes off in the gravel when not expecting it and the resulting image is more of a dust cloud.

Do you know what shutter speed you were using to get the gravel so sharp?
