Hello everybody, i'm going on holiday soon and my hoya circular polariser has like swirls on it and stubbirn soecks of dirt. Whats best to clean it off and also the same with my lens? Oh and I've now got some serious dust on the sensor issuesand cant find my blower frown any alternatives? cheers.

Like swirls or Unlike swirls? Each requires a different treatment...

Basically if you use a cloth or your t shirt lol on the filter it smears. would alcohol be any good ? and im not talking about rubbing smirnoff ice over it either, but like proper alcohol?

I've used diluted IPA (isopropylalcohol) on a lens before but used it in a very very watered down way so as not to attack the surface coating of the lens (but again this was a cheap lens, I wouldn't be so gung-ho on my more expensive gear)

ALWAYS use the blower first, then brush if there's still some dust, then cloth if there's still something left, then I use a Lens Pen. This should usually be enough. I haven't needed any more (e.g. lens cleaner) for years.
