What highstreet dealers will do part-ex? I have two virtually new Nikon short VR zooms which I want to chop for a single, more expensive lense. Thanks.

In general, you get a really poor deal when you part-exchange. 1 retailer that gave me pretty decent deal was ffordes. I'd definitely recommend them. You can either part exchange or do commission sale with them.

If you only want half price for them, p/ex them. You'd do far better on eBay.

Definitely put them on ebay. There's a very active market in camera lenses. They often sell for an amount ridiculously close to the new price, and if you're very lucky you might even stumble across a moron who bids more.

I agree with Simpo Two and Hedgeman; I recently sold 30 years accumulation of film cameras and lenses on eBay
and got amazing prices even for brassed and dented 35mm bodies, and lenses with mould inside (and yes I did describe them accurately,
and put up good large sized images of the stuff). I was anal enough to have kept all the boxes and instructions rolleyes

I had previously made several dealer enquiries about P/X for the more recent and excellent condition medium format gear but the offers were pathetic.

Or you could flog them on here. What you looking to get shot of and for how much?

VR versions of 18-105mm and 55-200mm, both less than 2 months old. Say £350 for the both.
