Is the 50D a worthwhile upgrade from a 10D? Should be seeing some decent falls in price now the 7D has arrived and I'm struggling to justify what will be a £5-700 increment when we get a settled retail price on the new body.
I know many have chosen not to upgrade from 30D and 40D becasue the incremental improvements have not been that huge.
There also appears to be plenty of BS on the web about noise etc of a 15MP APS-C sensor which I would appreciate some owners insight on.
Cheers

I would think so, having used a 30D for 3 years (and the gf's 40D), and recently a 10D at work I can report that the later models are noticeably nicer to use (and expect the 50D to be slightly better still). The image quality may not be a massive step up (haven't done any direct tests), but just for faster viewing, better screen and interface I think it's probably worth it. try in a shop or even rent one for a day, I think 50D bodies are pretty cheap to rent. Not tried one myself, so can't comment on noise but I wouldn't expect it to compare badly to the other #0D series though....hope that helps!
Depends what you want it for...
Mine's a back up to a 1DMK2N,or to be more accurate it's for when i can't be bothered carrying the 1D
. I go above ISO 1000 a handfull of times in a year, usually on Rallies in Winter so any noise issues are irrelevant to me. Having said that i've messed around with ISO 3200 out of curiosity and found it more than acceptable as long as you're not printing posters.
As my left arm is a bit knackered at the moment, the 50D was pressed into service at Croft on Saturday..

Kit used for the whole day was the 50D/Sigma120-300/1.4TC.
