September Photo Competition - The Winners!

OK folks, the results are in!
In 3rd Place:

There's something about this shot I really like, it's very comfortable, I love the warm colours and the informality of the whole image. They both really do look contented!
2nd place:

A fantastic shot, a really stunning portrait. I love the use of the shallow depth of field and the quite tight crop around the subject works really well for me. However, I think in this context, there's something quite unnerving about the image which doesn't quite capture contentment for me. It's probably my favourite image here, but for that reason I'll have to pop it in 2nd place.
1st place:

A beautiful capture of a pretty contented lookng cat, although this obviously isn't your average moggy! The lighting is great, I think the dark areas to either side help to bring contrast to the image and those whiskers pop out against the blackness. The little spot of wooden flooring visible also adds a nice bit of texture in there.
So congrats Mini 1275!
