Considering a ultra wide angle lens...

Hi people, i'm considering getting a 10-20mm sigma or differnet for my D80. I've got a Nikkor 70-300mm Vr for my motorsport and airshows and I've got the Nikkor 18-55mm VR kit lens it came with, served me well but now I want wider. Basically I dont know which to get. Tokina? Nikkor? Tamron? Sigma? Then filters! I know lee are expensive but should I get some. Just wondering if you could steer me to a decision by showing me your shots and say if you've used any filters and if so which.

Sigma 10-20mm!, ive used it for a couple of years now on my D50 and D200. Great lens, only filters i use on it are a ND8 and a ND Grad, sometimes a cheap really bad CPL as well.

Great shots Mole, esp the middle tow What filter was this with the ND8? What brand? Almost look HDRish which suits them. I've no experience with ND's, was looking to get the ND110 though. I know what they do, but have you got an idea to prices/holders and brand? I don't whether to get cokin or Lee. Decisions, Decisions!

Actually the second one is HDR forgot to mention that, hmm cant quite remember the make of ND8 wasnt a particularly expensive one. Probably just a cheap one off of eBay as i was on a budget at the time, works well enough for me.


I am going to be upgrading to Cokin filters soon though.

In my opinion, the Cokin P series NDs aren't brilliant. They ones that I've got have a bit of a purple tint. The Z series ones are much more expensive so maybe they are better.
