Nikon PC software?

Has anybody encounterd major Windows problems, after instaling the Cool Pic 3100 software on there PC?

or for that matter any other Nikon software?

I have that camera, but I have not installed the software, because I don't use Windows. Sorry.

Maybe the same software is used with other Nikon cameras? That would put more Nikon users into the scope sharing their experience?

I have had no problems using Windows since installing Nikon View which came with my Coolpix 5700 ( I havn't actually used the software yet as I use photoshop and I have only had the camera 2 weeks)
