I've just had to change the computer at home (last one exploded) and I've now lost Photoshop.

The new machine is running Windows 7 (64bit) and I'd like to get photoshop again, but it seems horribly expensive to get the latest (8 I think) version - I was using Elements 3 previously and was quite happy with it.

Any solutions that the PH can recommend?

Ta! smile

It was about £70 new when I bought it a while ago (v7 from WHE)

However....I bought CS3 unregistered on ebay for £150. Checked with Adobe, all cool no registration problems and had agreed with the seller that if it screwed at registration I'd get my money back.

Thanks for that.... I didn't realise it was quite so pricey. I think my previous version must have come with a camera (maybe)... Looks like I'm going to have to cough up some cash!!

Have you thought about GIMP? www.gimp.org

It is a legitimate freeware download and free to use without restriction, it has most of the Elements features.

It doesn't have adjustment layers, but you can work around that.

might be worth a look before shelling out

I've just bought a copy of Elements on Amazon for £58 - so it wasn't as bad as I thought... I'll take a look at Gimp though. Thanks......
