I need to move a person into someone else's place who is standing next to him on a group photo. I've gone so far of removing the person who shouldn't be there but now I'm stuck with a gap and I would like to move this other person up into that place, but I don't know how....

Any ideas?

The main problem with moving things is having enough spare background to clone. SOme things just aren't feasible, or would look unrealistic.

If that doesn't make sense, e-mail it to me via my website and I'll tell you if I think it's possible or not.

John, thanks a lot for your help yesterday!

As in crop him out? Not sure what you mean otherwise. The guy is the second one in from the side so that's not possible unless I crop other people out with him too.

That sounds 'highly technical' bearing in mind my limited Photoshop skills...lol

Depending on the picture it may be possible to use the patch function, select the person in source, and move the next person over smile

I've Photoshop CS2, but cannot seem to find this patch function. Would you be able to give a bit more info on this please?

Hi Edina,

The patch tool is in the box with brushes, magic wand etc.

it is the 4th one down on the left. as in...

Top left= marquee tool
2nd = Lasso tool
3rd = crop tool

4th = Healing
spot healing
PATCH
red eye

you choose between these 4 by right clicking on the 4th box down. then left click on PATCH

hope you understand my description.

could well involve a whole host of techniques.. maybe rebuilding pieces from scratch and paiting by hand

please email me the picture if you'd like any more help
