We are in Glasgow this coming weekend and fancied a trip up towards Oban on Saturday for sightseeing and photography.

Are there any suggestions as to places to stop for stunning landscapes or else any other roads up north of Glasgow that we may try. Ideally we want to get back to Glasgow for early evening.

TIA

Porsche for sure! There will be plenty snow on the mountain tops but none down at road level.

If heading from Glasgow to Oban I normally use the detour past Inverary on the way up and then come back down via Crianlarich....some nice scenery included in both routes...

If you want to go the long way round then Crinan will give you a nice West Coast scene.
Some nice coastal scenery on the road up that way too.

Maybe worth plotting a circular route up over the rest and be thankful round Loch Fyne etc then back the Loch Lomond way?

Just remember it is getting dark before 4pm.

The Inverary route to Glasgow has some nice spots.

Take the Porsche but keep an eye out heading down the long hill after the Rest and be thankful towards the Dunoon junction.
Always something suspicious about that spot wink

I did the same trip a while ago, it was awesome. Just watch out for average speed cameras, they are a right pain in that area...

When did they put average speed cameras up there, last time I did that drive was May and it was still all clear?

Where are the SPECS?
I just drove from Inverary down through Glasgow last weekend, no sign on that route.
