Hello all,

I've been asked if there are any camera parts/accesories I might want for xmas as my brother is coming back from China and would like to get me something (most bits being cheaper there).

I have a basic set-up of 400D (with standard 18-55mm and an EF-S 55-250mm telephoto), a tripod, and a camera bag.

I tend to take wildlife, nature, outdoors type pictures and really want to know if there is some essential kit (filters? that kind of thing) I could get that might improve my pics or coming in handy for this type of photography.

Any ideas appreciated,

Cheers

The moose photographer (roe deer strictly but you get the idea)

I'm planning on some graduated neutral density filters myself. And as above too ;-)

Not sure filetrs will help you with wildlife? A polariser is always handy but will rob you of some light and not be hugely applicable...

It certainly would for "outdoors type pictures" though.

Monopod, batteries, remote control, camo rain hood. Even bigger lens?

Also can you get a decent macro lenses for say under £300 in this country, so hopefully ~£200 in China?

Ta for the ideas, I'm a bit new to all this so needed the ideas to get started. Remote control, polarizing filter and monopod all seem like good options smile

This would be good: http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-sigma-200-500m...

but that might be a bit to expensive? biggrin

As you said wildlife first, I'd say a very long telephoto lens, how much money were you thinking of?

Wildlife comes big and small smile The telephoto I have is 'ok' for now as I'm quite an awesome wildlife stalker, a macro for bugs and flowers and general easy garden stuff would be nice though smile

For cheap macro look at extension tubes, but try get the kenko ones or similar (ones that allow af and aperture control)
