Following the posts on the Manchester canals in the Lounge, I thought it best to start a thread for posting any Urbex pics.

I will refrain from re-publishing other people's work, please post your pics!

Very limited look at Langdon hospital Dawlish. In fact, not an "explore" at all, more a Sunday stroll to the pub, with a mobile phone.
Others will cover this I'm sure, so perhaps this is more of a lead.

Langdon hospital Dawlish:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&a...

The site is easily approached from the north, using an overgrown footpath/bridleway, known locally as "scratchyface lane".

Less than 100 yards from this lane, is the disused water tower:

A further 100 yards through the woods, lie four abandoned buildings. All are insecure, as they have windows broken/open. The buildings are not visible from the main complex. Mrs Philthy and I had a stroll around, and took these very basic photos on my old phone:

We didn't enter any of the buildings, as it was a spur of the moment thing, and I was keen to get to the pub hehe I'm pretty certain Mrs Philthy would have drawn the line at climbing through a window anyway biggrin
We would like to go back, with a proper camera this time, and more suitably dressed ! It would be nice to see this site photo'd properly, and documented, especially, as it seems it may be re-developed soon.
If anybody is interested, let me know, and I will help as far as possible.
After we had been, we simply walked on through the hospital grounds unchallenged (why would we be?)

There you go 28DL, pick the bones out of that hehe Better yet, go and "do" the site properly !

Edit to add:

Suggest that a trial is run with a sticky with specific rules about what information is to be posted / publicly shared, rules on gaining entry to places etc. This way we can keep it responsible but with the PH friendliness factor added. If the trial happens without issue and is popular then it should become a permanent feature.
Good idea. Perhaps the legal bods could point out the ins and outs of trespass law as well?
As I understand it, if we had been caught, we would simply have to leave the premises when requested?

Guys,

I'm 20mins from Dawlish.
I can bring my digi cam & we could go exploring if you like?
I have no idea what an Urbex group is but this fascinates me.
I'm also a big kid so don't mind climbing around & exploring.
Have a half day on friday & all next week on holiday as well as this weekend.
If anyones from the Devon area i'll come exploring with you!

Wow I didn't know it's that cool in there. It's just up the road from me - I might need to go have a look around!

Its well worth a visit, lots of features still remain however go soon as it is going fast. Plus watch out for the mountain of a man who is security and his dog.

Lincs in the best county for urbexing so make the most of it!

I've got some great derelict farmhouse shots, when I get around to pp'ing them, I'll put them up.
