Have given up googling, cant find one. Anyone managed to track down a supplier of a cable release for the G11?

I dont want the wi-fi, just the regular plug in type. You guys are my last resort. For whats it worth, brought it from Crazy Cameras, delivered from the states 52 hour after placing order. Some of the chat sites give them a bad write up, guess there are always encounter problems.

Your Google skills are weak old man... wink

You need a Canon RS60-E3 according to this site (see the chart):

Available from Amazon and Warehouse Express, to name but two.

When I was on holiday I took a microlight flight over the Victoria Falls. They had a G10 on the tip of the wing, triggered by a long remote cord back to the controls (ca. 5m of cable?). Given the conditions, African heat, dust, 1000ft and a constant cycle of mist from the falls and heat of the Zambian plains every 15mins, all day everyday I'd say it was as good a test as any! Seemed to work fine.

Looks like the RS60-E3 is the same as for the 350D (xxxD) line.

I made my own, a stereo minijack, cable , box , 1 switch and 2 buttons and your done.

Silly me, of course my RS60-E3 fits, what happened was I didn't read the manual, and when I tried the jack in the G11, felt a bit tight, so I "Assumed" it was a different jack.

Obviously works fine. For anyone who has a G11, I was just gobsmacked it will focus on an object a few millimeters in front of the lense, auto as well.

Tks guys, you can always guarantee someone on PH's will help you out with a problem.
