I've finally decided on a canon 450d with an 18-55 lens and a 55-250 lens. It appears that buying a bag for it all is actually harder than picking the camera!
I've spent ages searching the web and they're either rediculously expensive or reviews say they're too small for an extra lens.
Any recommendations?

Budget is sub £30, but I'm always after a bargain so sub £20 would be ideal!!

sub 20? I can heartely recommend a canvas Tescos reusable shopping bag. 20p. If you are buying a bag, make it a good un or dont bother. For sub 30/20 either my first suggestion or a cheap padded rucksack

I didn't think that was too unreasonable. Seem to be lots in that price bracked. I'll stand corrected though.

possibly is but no point paying for a cheap camera bag when for the same price you could get a good rucksack wink

for your kit a good rucksack would suffice and yes for a long time I used to go on shoots with camera in a tescos canvas shopping bag. Did the trick

Sell some chocolates you get gifted at work, and up the budget wink

I agree with stig, can't imagine anything at that price would be worthwhile (or last).

Interesting, lowepro seemed to be where I was leaning.

use there slingback which is really useful, it'll carry camera & 3 lenses, filters & phone in separate pocket, small bottle water, crisps & you can slot a small tri pod through the elastic loop on the outside (dont think that's what its for though)

waterproof, and it's only the size of a large loaf of bread (alright, very large)

the 'slingback' bit means you can slide it round to your front very quickly and easily for cool hand luke quick draw purposes biggrin

I bought my brother-in-law a lowepro rucksack type bag for around £60 from Jessops. Without doubt cheaper elsewhere but I haven't checked.

He's very happy with it. It holds the camera, another lens, a flash and other small bits; it sort of slings over your back and when you want to take a picture you swing it round in front of you. Has the usual storm cover built in as well.

Think it was this model http://products.lowepro.com/product/SlingShot-200-...

I was lucky enough to find a secondhand Lowepro AW 200 Slingshot for £30... But really your budget is a bit .. .. ...light... .. .. compared to what you've spent on kit!

Thanks guys.
Got my kit surprisingly cheap by buying individually and waiting for offers.

that is a bargain! I've got one (was a freebie originally) and it's proven to be great when I don't want to lug everything around. For your kit it would be perfect and the top section is excellent for carrying your food/coat/rubbish etc too smile Go for it if you can Lois.

I bought one of these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lowepro-Fastpack-200-Backp...

for my Nikon D5000. It's great, it looks more like a traditional rucksack than the slingshot, so doesn't get as much unwanted attention, and can be worn like a proper rucksack so is better for longer days out.

Has plenty of space for camera with lens, plus extra lenses/filters/accessories etc. Camera can be accessed from the side the same as the slingshot. Plus it has separate section on top for food/drink/jacket etc.

That is a bargain! Will have a proper look on my computer tomorrow.
Would be good for days out but i'd also need something more 'delicate' for weddings etc.

A bit left field but I did use a nappy changing rucksac for a while - padded, cheap and lots of dividers/pockets. Less obviously a camera bag as well...
