I had my first go at these tonight, and I must admit I didn't find it anywhere near as easy as I'd expected. Please see it below and give me your comments and suggestions for best set-up on this please?

That looks pretty good to me; much better than most I've seen.

I can't offer any tips on how to improve, other the basic things of using a remote release or the timer and locking the mirror up. The best moon photos I've seen are ones that have been taken using a telescope.

That is pretty good, I've managed to get a couple of similar quality (got a 6x4 next to my desk of one).

What camera/lens are you using, tripod, remote release, etc? I;ve just used my Sony A200 with a Sigma 75-300, with the camera on the roof of the car. Interesting though, that I used auto exposure, and it just wouldn't get it right with the flash off - only got it right when the flash went on. Which is bizarre, as a flash that can illuminate the moon from here will probably wipe out a whole city.

Looks good to me. As asked before, what kit did you use?

Kit was EOS 400D with a 70-200 L and 2x Converter. Settings of f11 and 1/15s - tripod, mirror lockup and remote release, partial metering and manual focus.

Thanks for the comments guys - it was surprising, as I started off with it in my head you needed to be looking at around 8 seconds - wayyyyy too long. What was difficult was manually focussing whilst not moving the camera as much as possible, the tiniest touch made it difficult to see how well focussed it was through the viewfinder.

To the OP, I'd convert it to B&W - the only reason it's 'sepia' is the crap in the earth's atmosphere.

Wow! Now that is impressive. I didn't realise you can use more than one converter at a time... hmmmmmm. Thanks for the comment GC - I'll have a tweak.
