Hi

I have just got a Nikon D3000 through a claim on my house insurance due to a robbery, I had the Nikon D40 before but to be honest never used it.

I have spent today messing around trying different settings then thought is this camera any good? as my insurance policy is new for old?

Can you help

Never having haad a go with either but I'd imagine yes. you'll have updated software and better capabilities in camera.

Or sell it while it still holds decent value?

the D3000 is more than suitable as a replacement camera smile

My wife bought me one for my birthday, having thoroughly researched it on the web and concluded that it was the best new buy for her money. At the moment, it is almost entirely wasted on me (although the fully automatic mode works well enough), but I am enjoying learning to use it properly.
