Well I wasn't thinking about Focus for this year.

But postman has just brought me my free entry badge! "As a regular ... blah ... blah. ..."

So I might just think of going after all.

It's 7-10th March, btw.

I'd go again if they stopped people taking cameras in. That might not work actually given the idea of the show...

But what put me off was loads of people wandering around snapping randomly like magpies. The worst offenders all had 100-400 L glass too, part of me was waiting for them to take the shot, but then I saw they were shooting someone else's so I left 'em to it and went where I wanted to go

I'll be going to lust over all the stuff I can't afford. Probably without my camera, but even if I do bring it I'll attach the 35mm or 50mm lens, can't think why anyone would want a 400mm lens inside a packed hall in the NEC.

I usually slip a small Billingham over my shoulder for the body and the little pancake lens - the one that Simpo secretly envies. Useful to have the body for the odd time you want to barter over some secondhand lens from a back-of-the-hall stand and want to try it out. Also, you can see some odd sights - like the people being "stalked" by those effin' stupid actor/clown types they seem to have. I mean mostly for a quick candid of people's reactions!

Last year Cameraworld and Jacobs had stands and both had some good deals, I saw some high end lenses at 10% under the best non-grey import prices around at the time.

Some deals to be had. I hummed and hawed over an Epson R2880 - £200 off list and not seen it for that much discount all year.
