Which budget HD camcorder?
Discussion
Hi all. I'm going to be buying a budget camcorder in the next few days. Can someone recommend one please.
So far I've come up with the following list.
Hitachi D36FT HD Pocket Camcorder
Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10
Toshiba Camileo P10
Any advice on which to go for or are there any better on the market at less than £150? Doesn't havre to be compact it just seems at my price range they all are.
Thanks,
Matt

I too have a Kodak ZI8. It's quite a nice bit of kit, especially considering what it costs although as expected the digital zoom is pretty ropey.
If you want to see what the footage from it is like then you can watch this video (make sure you watch the 720p version) - just keep in mind that it was my first time using it!

That does look quite good, particularly the low light performance.
I bought my other half a Flip Ultra HD and we have been quite pleased with it. Low light is quite good on this too. My only complaint was it won't send the picture to our Toshiba LCD TV via a cheapo mini HDMI cable. My Canon 500d works fine with this set-up. I talked with Flip and they recommended buying their HDMI cable which from memory is about £20!
My father had a JVC of the same size/style and whilst this is probably the better camcorder, i wasn't impressed with the low light performance. Digital zoom on all these camera's is a waste of time in my opinion.

The good thing about the Kodak is it does come with all the leads one needs I bought my other half a Flip Ultra HD and we have been quite pleased with it. Low light is quite good on this too.
