I don't rent lenses so can't help directly, but if there's a Nikon 18-200 f2 I'd quite like to buy one nuts

Maybe I should have been more specific, I was generalising regarding the lens I was after.

yes

I've hired their Nikon 80-400mm a few times now and I've always been impressed with their service. I'm even happier now that I've switched to Canon as they started as Canon specialists so have an even better range of lenses.

Try Calumet. There is one in Bristol and they are friendly chaps. The lens you mentioned is fine (and yes we all know what you are talking about) but the 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 are much, much better.

Hired a 28-300mm last year for Le Mans. Wonderful service and highly recommended.

I have used lenses for hire and I found them very good. I have also used Hireacamera and they were also very good.

Just make sure you check them out fully on arrival. I had a 70-200 that was back focusing and a D3 with a dirty sensor and pentaprism which was off. Once explained I was compensated.

Thought you'd be wanting the one with a wind-up key and a meths burner underneath!

An aperture ring would be nice - not too much to ask is it?

Do you think we should be hijacking other people's threads like this?

Only good things heard about Lenses For Hire

Also Fixation - got a good reputation so I think they're OK at sorting out any gripes if you have them.
