Hi All

First post on here but I have been following for some time.

I am looking for a replacement for the stock lens for my Canon 400D and was wondering if any one had any recommendations.

I have been looking around and would like something in a similar range (18-50) but a larger aperture which gives a better picture (which could be a problem with me)

Ideally from what I have read I would like the CANON 24-70 2.8, but cannot stretch to the cost, so then I started looking at the early Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG or Tamron but have heard that the sigma isn’t too great at the aperture I would like and I have a feeling that if I brought it I may be disappointed

So can anyone recommend any others, or give good enough reason to keep looking at the Sigma or Tamron lens. I have done a search but most recommendations go back to the Canon.

Currently I also have Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG which I am happy with

Many thanks
Andy

Nice car and welcome to the forum.

You can have cheap or you can have good, it's up to you which you get. wink

I've got the 15-85mm and it's lovely!
