Racecar mount video camera recommendation please
Discussion
Friend I'm working with is taking part in a 1000 mile closed road race in Italy this year. Seems sensible to have a front mount camera of some sort to record action and crowds. I’m thinking of a bullet cam that will fit discretely under front bumper and held on with a quality clamp or suction mount (bad roads and high speed).
It needs its own power rather than take 12v from car, should really be HD, and... ideally be able to record all day or for at least 4 hours at a time. I guess best record method is big SD cards as cheap and easy to swop.
Any ideas / suggestions where to start and what to look for / avoid ?
Thanks,
DH

My BiL just bought one of these which he used for a recent ski trip. Was very impressed with the results, particularly in low light. Can do upto 8 hours recording with a 16Gb microSD card. They have a mount for cars as well. Only problem is the lack of external mic jack - so the video sound will have a lot of wind disturbance.
I bought my roll bar mount from these guys. As they are local, I picked it up from their office - very nice, knowledgeable guys. They sell the contourHD and gocam.
