Looks like you were there at a lovely time of the year. I like Miyajima; it's really a beautiful place (as long as you are not eating food close to those deers & monkeys!). Thanks for sharing them!

7 is the standout for me, looks like a magical place! damn I want to go back again...maybe see one of the smaller islands next time....

There are lots of lovely small islands in Setonaikai (Inland Sea). Miyajima is part of it and it's also a National Park.

We were amazed at how green and unpopulated the place looked, or at least the parts we flew over (Shikoku, W.Honshu) - these beautiful mountains and valleys, but then dotted with urbanity as soon as the land got flat-enough!

Kansai was an interesting experience too...am I right in thinking that's sinking???

Good, thanks! SWMBO still working too hard, we are both drinking too much at the weekend but we are expanding our network bit by bit, which is a good thing. 18 months to go!
