Best Photography Classifieds?
Discussion
At my wits end with ebay and paypal withholding payments etc
An anyone suggest a good place to shift a few lenses?
I've singed up for talk photography today but i think i need to be a member for a month before i can sell anything.
Cheers all,
Rick.

100 posts too iirc, but you can buy from their classifieds at any point - might be worth buying something cheap just to get on the feedback rating scale so people have a head start trusting you for your first sale.Sounds like you're having a nightmare, don't know any other classifieds but a couple of the used dealers pay fair money for gear doesn't have to be in PX, notably MPB Photographic

Annoyingly I've found eBay to be the best place for photographic stuff - the extra interest/bidding roughly covers the 15% fees. What went wrong?
Paypal have developed a habit of holding onto my payments until the buyer gives me feedback. It delays the process by a week or more.10 day listings, then wait a few days for payment, then wait a week for the money to land in your bank only to find paypal won't give you your money! You're talking about nearly a month from date of listing to actually having the money.
I object to paying 15% for such a shocking service. I'd rather let the lenses go elsewhere for 20% less than give them any more of my money.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
grrr.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that, but just get an e-mail saying 'You've got funds' when the pay.Is this now common to all sellers or is it a precuation for users with low-feedback?

Happened to me twice now, Once on a £80 xbox and just now on my £600 135mm f2.
You will see the funds in your paypal balance, But some of it will be 'held' and not available 'til the buyer leaves you feedback.

You also need 100 posts and making them all at the end of the 30 days with things like "nice pic" in response to people's photos is generally frowned upon. To the extent that you wont get access to the classifieds at all if you are caught.Regarding paypal and ebay, I have found that "Buy it now" items get their payments held. In that of the two BIN auctions I've posted both have had the payment held where I've never had a conventional auction payment held. And yes it annoys me a great deal as well.
I sell my photo equipment on dyxum.com, but that's only of interest to Sony / Minolta users.
