Just sold my D300 after 2 years and 65,000 shots. Never let me down once, even after being in riots, sandstorms, waterfalls and dropped a few times. Really quite good in my book.

But the question is what has replaced it?

No - the question is: who bought it, despite it not actually being through a war zone or two.....?

Well at the moment I am using my GFs D60 and wondering about either a D3s, D3x or wait for the D800 to come out.
I also got rid of a H3D-31 at the same time so am feeling a little naked.

I've just bought the D3S, but kept my D300 as back-up.

As a result, I've realised two things - what a remarkable upgrade the D3S is, particularly with regard to high ISO performance, but also what an incredible camera the D300 is for the money.

D3s

I can't wait to hear more feedback about whether this is a good move forward! Can't afford one, mind, but that doesn't stop us dreaming!!! smile

I've only just got it, so full report to follow soon, but my immediate reaction after one full shoot with it is amazement at how late into the evening the ISO allows me to work - I pushed the ISO up into the high thousands at about 7-ish to keep shooting without a tripod, and there was NO noise. Controls are very intuitive (love the second shutter release button for portrait shots) and video seems excellent. Just a shame its not 1080p like the Canon, but not a huge deal for me. 9 frames per second should be fun for this year's motorsport.....

Not a particularly thrilling shot, but this E-Type interior was shot hand-held at 1600 ISO....

Olivero, going on from your posting of March 2nd

"I am fed up of Ebay with their PayPal only policy and Craigslist is just full of scammers.
I have placed an advert on the 'For Sale' section here but am not sure how many people look there.

So who would you use to sell a lightly used camera and lens ?"

Where did you end up selling it?

Craigslist in the end, just made sure to add that it would be cash only and I would not post to your cousin in Africa who wanted to be a Doctor...
