Which filters?
Discussion
Does anyone have any recommendations on whose filters to use?
I want a set of ND grads for landscapes, was thinking Lee or Cokin? I was on a car shoot for a mag yesterday and the pro was using a set of rectangular filters which seemed pretty flexible.

Well i'm going to sell my cokin P Grad set as they leave a magenta colour cast when stacked, and I could really do with a larger size as i'm getting a vignette at 24mm on a FX body.
My money is going to LEE filters without doubt, I'd hazard a guess thats what the pro you saw was using. They're not cheap though, and about £55 a filter, without holder and adapter ring.
Cokin P grad set of three with holder is about £50ish for comparison.

I find them more versatile, you just have to be more careful when masking off horizons when you start out with them. It's worth buying a book to help you make the right choice for your subject matter, it will save you money buying filters you don't / won't need
