Greetings and salutations,

I'm considering picking up a nikon to eos adapter in order to use my 50mm nikon on my canon to do some upcoming video. AF confirm isnt a requirment so thats no problem but after enquiring with people who should know, and some who alledgedly sell them the variety of responses ranged between "they're crap" to "well, they can be expensive". Non of which really answered my question of - do they work well enough to actually use.

I know with cheaper converters there can be issues with focus at infinity but again that wouldnt be an issue with that I will be doing.

Yes i know i should probably stop being a tight wad and by a 50 for the Canon but as I seem to be hemorrhaging money lately then it seems a reasonable option.

So, does anyone know its any good? If not this particular one, another?

Cheers.

i had a customer in jessops today ask for one.
we dont do them and i told him this, he seemed a bit pissed off when i told him. What was i supposed to do?
Tell him we did and hope for the best?
Sorry, we cant stock everything

Anyway, should be ok, just without the autofocus, not sure if the lens would talk to the camera. So maybe manual appature, no auto at all. But i may ne wrong.

Does your nikon lens have manual aperture control? You'll need it.

It's possible these days, as well as AF confirmation

They also have compatibility charts http://www.16-9.net/lens_tests/compatible.html ,as well as some good lens reviews

These people have been at Focus on imaging for the last two years (maybe more). They seem genuine enough and have a broad range of specialist stuff.

Dont think aperture controll is very easy or accurate with it either?

Has to be worth buying a canon lens instead unless you have more than 1 cheap nikon lens to mount.

Saying that the EF 50f1.8 mk1 is a pig to manual focus, so find a mk1 ....
