Where do you go for large prints..? (online)

[Kuroblack350]

Hi all

Just looking for any recommendations as to a decent online supplier of large prints... The kind of prints that you can't really do at home, and usually upload a jpg or similar..?

I see Kodak do a service, has anyone used this one?

I guess I'm looking for up to A3 type of size if that helps?

Thanks all

Most of my stuff is from DS Colour Labs. Also use Peak Imaging and Pro-Am in Bradford

I actually run a photo / Giclee printing service in my shop, A2 and under, I do mostly photo prints for local photo clubs and artists etc. unlike the big names, every print is done by hand, one at a time to assure top sellable quality.

If your interested at all just PM/email me....

I did take orders online but sold the website!

Had over 500 enlargement prints (up to 30" x 20") from www.photobox.co.uk - Only once were they not top drawer (and they re-sent same day).

I've had some big prints done by Photobox - may be wrong but they seem to be actual photo prints on actual photo paper as opposed to large format inkjets. Always happy with the large sizes but stopped using them because my standard and enlarged sizes (up to 18x12) were coming out inconsistent and dark.

Not noticed that. Sold 5 prints today, 3 yesterday.

Perhaps they use different printers? I know Blurb do, and that makes a big diference.

yes the big printing companies use an optical process, thats how they can do it so cheap (paper costs more than inkjet paper but no ink costs)
The downside with the process is that they tend to alter the colours to make them "appealing" rather than accurate.

I use Pro-Am, but photos do need a bit of work before you upload - correct size, dpi, and colour space must be applied first.

I've been using http://www.islphotoservices.co.uk/store/index.php - Used to be Togs Print for the large stuff and photobox for the smaller.
